Diameter-Authentication, Authorization, Accounting (Diameter-AAA) authenticates and authorizes the subscribers accessing to NAS, and charges the subscriber based on the UDR received from NAS.
Diameter-AAA system supports various Diameter Extensions(Diameter Application) based on the features defined in RFC 3588 Diameter Base Protocol. Diameter AAA performs the features of the AAA system in MobileIPv4, NASREQ, EAP, and CMS Applications. To support the communication with NAS which uses the legacy RADIUS Protocol, Diameter AAA also functions as a Translation Agent.
